Abstract

The maintenance of oral health in pregnant women is very important to avoid the occurrence of dental and oral diseases, especially gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) because of changes in the levels of the hormones estrogen and progesterone in the body of pregnant women, therefore pregnant women should routinely check their teeth to the Dental Treatment Center especially in early pregnancy in the first trimester (K1). From the results of data collection of visits of pregnant women to the Dental Treatment Center at the Omben Sampang Health Center have an average of 58.82% of visits that should have met the target of 80%. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of knowledge of pregnant women about oral health and the visit of the MCH Poly referral to the Dental Treatment Center. This study uses a cross sectional analytic method. The study population numbered 87 pregnant women and met the criteria. The technique of taking data samples with non-random sampling consecutive sampling was 87 pregnant women. Data obtained by filling out the questionnaire at MCH and observation of the visit book at the Dental Medicine Center. Data analysis techniques using the chi square test. The results of this study are related to the knowledge of pregnant women about dental and oral health and the visit of poly kia referrals to the dental treatment center.
