Abstract

Nutritional status of adolescents has become a concern due to improper dietary behaviors, specifically the imbalance between nutrient intake and recommended nutritional adequacy. Several key factors influence nutritional status, including level of physical activity, dietary intake, and fast food consumption. This study employed an observational cross-sectional design among purposively sampled 7th and 8th-grade students from MTs Assalafiyah in Tegal City. Data were analyzed using SPSS software with the Mann-Whitney test, setting significance at P < 0.05. The research findings revealed significant relationships between physical activity and nutritional status (P = 0,000), energy intake and nutritional status (P = 0,027), carbohydrate intake and nutritional status (P = 0.659), fat intake and nutritional status (P = 0,000), protein intake and nutritional status (p = 0,000), and fast food consumption and nutritional status (P = 0,011). This study concludes that there are associations between physical activity, dietary intake, fast food consumption, and nutritional status among students at MTs Assalafiyah in Tegal City
